No - they have just stopped developing the Intel version of Solaris. The sparc version continues, and probably will continue as long as Sun develop their own processors. But they see no value in maintaining a parallel version of the OS that runs on Intel h/w. They are a h/w company, after all, and Solaris on Intel didn't actually help directly _sell_ sparc boxes, although it has been argued that it familiarised potential buyers with the Solaris environment.

In the big scheme of things dropping this support by Sun is not very significant.
