Hi,

I have tried what you suggested, but still get the same error. If I restart
the server, I can connect and do my thing. What would be needed to
conclusively pin down the problem(email a bitmap????).

Two possibilities to look at:

1. What is the path string in the client? It should be e.g.
NTSERVER:C:\databases\ourdb.gdb

where C:\databases\ourdb.gdb is the local path to a disk **physically**
connected to the server. If it is anything else (e.g. a share or other
network drive) it won't connect.

2. Try to use command-line isql from the client in order to connect to the
database. (This is always my first test on a newly installed database..)
