Hello,
I am having trouble with a corrupted db; some facts:
ODS 8.2
InterBase 5.6
OAT - OIT = 250.000 (!)
One could argue that with these figures it was just a matter of time.
:-(
I can connect with isql but if I access a particular table (which,
unfortunately, is the one I should recover) I get the error in the
subject (Error while trying to read from file).
So far I have tried gfix -v -full followed by gfix -mend. I got other
error messages (like "connection lost to database" and "BLOB not found"
along the way); gbak wasn't able to finish a backup with any of the
different switch combinations I have tried.
After the -mend I can access that particular table, which looks empty
(so I guess that part of the errors is related to that table data).
I am almost persuaded that the data is gone, but before I tell this to
the customer service people I wanted to know if there's anything else I
could try.
Thanks
