As I wrote earlier, if your customers wants Borland, he/she can get IB5.6
for the cost of the CD plus shipping and handling. And at least the
corruption problem will be solved. IB5.6 has another minor improvements or
fixes that I don't remember.

Use gfix and disable garbage collection at all in that db.
Use UB5.5 gbak and backup the db. Do a trial and restore it with the same
gbak. Do not restore replacing the old one!!! See if the restored db works
as intended. Then take the backup and restore it in FB. Use gfix and enable
garbage collection to the default (20000).

It's not a good choice because it remains at ODS9 and if it has already some
problems, a new engine won't cure the corruption.
