We are still on IBO 3.x. After all our recent beta testing we would
NOT be keen on upgrading to a later (not even yet released) version
of IBO. So we will stay with RC2 or IB for the moment, and consider
which path to take later.
I'm a bit worried that Helen thinks this topic should now go to the
IBO list. I would have thought that there are truly enormous numbers
of IBO installations out there which will be unable to use FB1. This
list and this community has vigorously promoted IBO for a long time,
and it seems unwise for FB to become incompatible with it.
I am just hoping that some purist engineer on this list will not
point out that using table-name qualifiers in insert statements is
not strictly correct syntax, so it's ok to break thousands of
production systems.
Our very much preferred solution would be for FB1 to be backwards
compatible with IBO. Any possibility?
