What is the kernel version?

I too have timeout problems still on Linux. I reported this a long time ago
(the bug where select on Linux changes the timeout) and it was partially
fixed. It used to be that the connection would timeout after only a minute
or so but I think it now takes hours. How long is it taking for you to have
the timeout occur?

I had to add code to talk to the database every 5 minutes or so to make sure
the TCP/IP link stays up. It is supposed to be doing this on its own but
there is still some bugs in there!
