right, the bells and whistles follow on. In my case, if the
query takes more than 1 minute there is a problem - it would
be nice to prevent it crashing the whole network <g>

Interbase was SQL based until Borland got hold of it. Is
there any reason why Firebird can't follow the 'pure' root
