As you all know the Firebird project team has been working hard to get
the v1.0 release finalized.
In fact, the builds for Win32 and Linux were complete and were
undergoing extensive testing. The release notes and other documents were
also being edited/cleaned up.
The expectation *was* that v1.0 would have been released within the next
2-4 days.
As luck would have it, Guido Klapperich (guido.klapperich@...)
reported Wednesday a problem with the calculations using columns/values
of type NUMERIC( 18, 5), which reports incorrect results. This bug has
been present in the code base since the original IB v6.0 code release.
This bug is so serious that the project team has decided to hold the
v1.0 release, so that the fix for this problem (to be provided by the
indispensable Claudio Valderrama) will be included.
It is expected that the code fix will be made within the next couple of
days. With that the build/testing/release process will restart.
Accordingly, v1.0 will be release as soon as possible.
