so if a rollback is done the oldest transaction is stuck until
a sweep is done???

I started and stopped a transaction before getting these figures

I used gstat, if it does have it's own transaction (which I doubt as
immediately after a sweep the figures are within 2 or 3 of each other)
the figures would now be close together as you say that it's the start
transaction the clears up the TIP.
