Open a command window (DOS-box), and at the prompt write:
ping Roanoke_Server

If it times out: network problem.
try to use the actual IP address in place of "Roanoke_Server", if it
succeeds (where "Roanoke_Server" fails) there is a a problem with the hosts
file.
