I have been trying to find a direct answer to this for a long time &
re-reading a load of posts made me even more confused:

'is it possible and SAFE to use gbak to backup a database while there
are users connected & active on the database'.

If not what are the solutions for a 24/7 system that needs backing up
on a regular basis.
