Subject Firebird on HP-UX 11

Can anyone help me installing FirebirdSS-1.0.0.821-HP11.tar.gz on a HP-UX 11
Workstation.

I have different problems that I am not able to solve on my own.

1. Installed HP-UX 11 (32bit) (CD from Nov.99) on a HP Visualize C240
(256MB, 2*4GB)
Created hosts.equiv:
localhost
wftondorf
hpunix
192.168.1.44
192.168.1.132

Changed hosts
192.168.1.132 hpunix
127.0.0.1 localhost loopback
192.168.1.44 wftondorf

Created /.rhosts
wftondorf
hpunix
192.168.1.44
192.168.1.132

reboot

2. Connected with FTP from Windows Machine (root)
Copied FirebirdSS-1.0.0.821-HP11.tar.gz to /usr
On HP:
# gzip -d Fire*.tar.gz
CDE-File-Manager: Extract tar

# cd /usr/interbase
# ./install
done

reboot

4. Start interbase
# cd /usr/interbase/bin
# ibmgr -start
server has been succesfully started
interbase.log:
hpunix Tue Nov 12 04:54:03 2002
INET/inet_error: connect errno = 239

hpunix Tue Nov 12 04:54:04 2002
/usr/interbase/bin/ibguard: guardian starting bin/ibserver

hpunix (Server) Tue Nov 12 04:54:04 2002
Open file limit increased from 60 to 1024

5. Tried to create new database with IBConsole from wftondorf

/home/test1.gdb (CharacterSet WIN1252)
Bad parameters on attach or create database
CHARACTER SET WIN1252 is not defined

/home/test2.gdb (CharacterSet ASCII) -> everything works fine

/usr/interbase/intl/test3.gdb (CharacterSet ISO8859_1)
Bad parameters on attach or create database
CHARACTER SET ISO8859_1 is not defined

What do I have to do, so that Firebird is able to find the characterset?
I get the same error on a Linux-system, when I delete the file intl/gdsintl.
On the HP-UX machine the file exists.

How can I start the server on system start?
