I'm furious. I developed a project with Interbase, now Firebird as our database. The system is already 1,5 year up and running without any problem. Now my boss contacted a consultant to give his opinion about our IT infrastructure. His comments were : "Firebird is open source, it's a risky database, and you're depending on the goodwill of a few INTERNET PEOPLE who are developing the database. YOU SHOULD MIGRATE TO MS SQL SERVER". I could kill that man. I invested day and night in the development of the project. O fcourse my boss will listen to a consultant who is wearing a tie and walking with a briefcase. Now I'm looking for that article that Interbase wons the second place for the best database. It was choosen before SQL server, DB2, etc etc. Does anyone remember that article , Where can I find it ?
