Hello:
Hopefully someone can give me their opinion with regards to this problem
that I have.
We are building a D6 application (maybe moving it to D7) where we have two type of clients, one
a mobile client and another a LAN client (on a LAN).
We would like that the Mobile client can access a local Firebird database in
order for this client to work off line and later do a replication (via
Internet ) to the main server. And we would like that the LAN client can
access an SQL database (either IB6, Firebird, MSSQL, Oracle, DB2) database in the main
server (client server type).
We would like to be able to create only one application that "maybe" at
instalation time we can define if it is installing a Mobile client or a LAN
client. If it is a mobile client it would also install Firebird for him, if it is
a local client we would need to provide the server parameters to connect.
Has anyone done something like this?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
