This question is almost as bad as asking 'Which flavour of Linux is
best'. The more prudent among us are trying to stay out of religious
wars. However, it would probably improve the monthly stats for the list
server/newsgroup.

I'm not 100% sure that Firebird under Linux doesn't already run under
multiple CPUs. (Sorry for the double negative in that sentence). While
running top recently (very unreliable) it certainly looked as if I had
ibserver processes running on both processors simultaneously. Of course
at the time I wasn't measuring performance - it was the last thing on my
mind in fact - but according to top both processors were in use
simultaneously.

This shouldn't be taken as anything more than hearsay, though. However,
all the issues with Firebird and usage of multiple processors usually
refer to the Win32 platform.
