Pete,

Thanks for your report from the trenches on your own embedded
InterBase experience. I hadn't thought a lot about conflicts with
other Firebird/InterBase installations and your comments are of
great value to me.

I checked out the InterBase 5.5 embedded intstallation guide and it
occured to me that something similar should be written for
Firebird. As I'm developing a java application which will run on
all flavors of windows (98 forward), MacOS X, and a couple of unix
flavors, (embedding firebird in all of them) I might end
contributing to it.
