that is not how I remember it. Your first ten messages were sent from
ded_spb or something without any signature. Hence, I and probably a lot of
others wondered who you were. You raised interesting topics, but never
said
you were Ded, Alexander or Sasha. We simply did not know that ded meant
anything more than spb, and to most of us it simply seemed like six
letters
randomly put together.

There's nothing wrong with Ded - possibly excepting that it sounds like
dead. But then, my nickname is the most common word in English, I find
nothing wrong with names sounding similar to words in various languages
and
Ded isn't even spelt like dead.

And there is nothing wrong with Fokubitch if it is a name, but if that is
the case I think his/her first mail to any English-speaking newsgroup
ought
to be signed "Jan Fokubitch", rather than just "Jan".
