It's quite early for someone working on the project to answer accurately to
your question. Wait until the beta is out or a release candidate. Also,
just to mention the new gds32.dll that is with FB 1.5 only redirects the
calls to the actual new client DLL, which is fbclient.dll. The reason why
it's made this way for FB 1.5 is only to permit the developers to test FB
1.5 without modifying their code, and let them gradually change their code
to point to fbclient.dll instead of gds32.dll. This will permit
applications made for FB1.0 or Interbase to co-exist with FB 1.5
applications. Since the development of Firebird is clearly starting to
diverge from what Interbase once was, this is a crucial step to be able to
go forward and make sure that any future installation of Firebird doesn't
interfere with an Interbase installation or vice-versa.

And, like Helen mentioned any Firebird 1.5 questions, bug reports or
feature requests must be made on the Firebird-Devel list. If you don't
know how to get there, go on Firebird's web-site and there should be a link
somewhere.
