This is not a local connection. The IBserver is running on a different machine from the metaframe machine (where all processes from the same application are running), so my connection path looks like this:
aristoteles:F:\somefolder\somefile.gdb
aristoteles:F:\somefolder\somefile.gdb

Are you using a loopback connection method/string (i.e.
"localhost:drive:\path\database.gdb")???
You need to.
The normal direct connection method ( "drive:\path\database.gdb") is a
blocking connection, only 1 operation performs at a time.
