You can easy control fields
formatting, grid columns (alignment, titles, visibility), etc. And
the most important thing is that you can change these options without
recompilation of your application. All options are stored in a
database. Moreover, you can even store your queries in the database
and change them. FIBPlus components automatically use those changed
queries.

Now that's weird. Just yesterday I had a 'eureka!' moment when this possibility hit me (don't forget I'm new to true client/server), and I started planning it: dataset queries stored in DB and downloaded by clients on connect. Guess there's no such thing as a new idea :-)
