i have a good experience with FB and windows XP Prof.

the only thing, what i made was to deactivate the systemRestore in:
control panel, system ...

this is my developing-computer, i didn't tested XP for real hard work as server
with 50 concurrent clients ..., for that i user Windwos NT SVP6


on windows XP (i needed it for compatibily-test)
i am using FB RC2 and IBO-Objects, IBX and also BDE for older programms and
the the Borland SQL Explorer, my databases have 1.3 GB in size and a lot of
tables and so on ... now i am working on a own Service, that updates the
database in a datawarehouse every night, or as defined .., a lot of database-
operations, and till now all works very fine ... and performant too ...
this service also backups and restores the databses every night, and
make the SET STATICS ... on all indexes, and other things, like
email and sms informations...

my next step is to change on the server Interbase 6 opensource to FB,
and make own client-install routines for the clients (minimal-install)
then for internet-applications i will try Linux SUSE 7.3 with FB ....
