One has to remember that Interbase 'pre-dates' Borland.

I tend to the view that they did not even know they had
bought it when they took over Ashton Tate. SO it never did
get any real internal support.

The builds prior to that were for Unix, so the question of
what compiler to use did not exist.

That said, the work to use a Borland Windows compiler has
been done, so that at least is good news <g>
