Yes, and there are several ways to do it. You can use ssh or rsh, for
example.

It's actually a little ironic that you pose this and the next
question, since Linux was built from the ground up to do networking
properly, unlike the operating system you mentioned.

The Unix GUI system, X-Window, is built on a client/server
architecture, where the client and server do not need to be on the
same machine. This means that "Linux Terminal Services" (gotta love
Win terminology...) is something you get out of the box on most Unix
systems, including Linux. You can also use a free product called VNC,
which does something similar, and allows Win PCs, for example, to
easily and instantly turn into terminals to Linux or other Unix
machines.

A cool thing about VNC is that you can turn off your Win terminal when
you go home at night, and when you turn it back on in the morning and
start VNC again, you'll find your Linux desktop _exactly_ the way it was
when you left it the night before, complete with Firebird application
ready to do your bidding, and cursor blinking in just the place you
had it. Magic.
