Which brings up an interesting question then. What is FB going to use for
it's "front end" toolset (Server Manage, WISQL, etc)?

AFAIK, Jeff has no plans to keep up with Firebird in IBX or IBConsole. They
are classified as strictly for Interbase and if they work with FB, that's
cool, but not necessary. This is understandable as he is a TeamB member and
so has a "type of" commitment to Borland. Also, IBX and IBConsole are not
open source, even though you can get the source code, so you can't
distribute a modified version for FB, but you can modify it for your own
purposes, IIRC.
