Subject RE: [ib-support] Problem with connection

In the component SQLConnection it had put the path, but it doesn't work.
Although I can make ping to the other machines, I believe that it should
have some other problem with TCP/IP in some other layer.
Thank you, anyway, to answer. I love this list.

Hi,

connect like (TCP/IP):

myserver:/mydatabasepathontheserver/andthensome/mydb.gdb

For example:

myserver:/databases/serp.gdb

I had a database created in my own user directory once:

myserver:/usr/mtonies/dbs/my.gdb

Hope this helps,

Well, that concept is already clear, but I apologize to insist. I have
eliminated Samba, and the only thing that I have among the server
(Linux) and the clients (Windows) it is the bond TCP/IP. Now, like I
make to address from the clients the path toward the server that
contains the database? Should I register the database?

Ernesto
