Subject Firebird client install: TCP/IP not working
Author e.poullet@win.be
Hi,
A Firebird Server is installed on a PC win2k.
The IBconsole see the server without problem.

The Firebird Client is installed on a another PC (win2k).

But When I test the connection (TCP/IP)on the IBconsole,
I have the following reply :

PORT 3050

*Attempting connection to \\niagara.
*Socket for connection obtained.
*
*Failed to connect to host '\\niagara',
*on port 3050. Error Num: Cannot allocate socket..
*
*TCP/IP Communication Test Failed!

PORT GDS_DB

*Attempting connection to \\niagara.
*Socket for connection obtained.
*
*Failed to connect to host '\\niagara',
*on port gds_db. Error Num: Socket Error # 11001.
*
*TCP/IP Communication Test Failed!

PORT PING

*Unknown host \\niagara.

Ping work correctly in the dos mode.

How can I resolve this problem ? The services files are correctly
completed
with the port 3050...

Thanks,

Eddy POULLET

PS: A wingate server run on the same machine than the firebird server
and a wingate client run on the same machine than the firebird client.
