Subject Re: Why is Interbase so slow?

Helen,

Do I understand that there is nothing remarkable that would suggest
such poor performance.

I have made the changes you suggest.

Nothing improves with Interbase.

I am beginning to doubt your performance figures (amybe wishful
thinking).

You suggest that there is something wrong with the setup - I provided
the IBCONFIG settings - and the only change you suggest is adding a
temp file location?

Where are the performance enhancements settings?

Again both are generic out of the box - I quote the time it takes to
perform the query. You suggest InterBase should be better than
SQL_SERVER figures. I have made the changes with no difference.

Where is your proof?

How can you continue to suggest InterBase is better?

This is frustration talking ...

I would like VERY MUCH to believe you - make a few setting changes -
not re-write the app for a different db.

Specific suggestions - not reference to a white paper that may
exist .... please ... (fellow Aussie)

There are 3 entries about ibconfig - nothing that helps
