Can you tell me - is SuSE 7.2 still using inetd by default, or have they
switched to Xinetd, (like RedHat have)?

Other than that - glad to hear you got it running OK. Which version of Firebird
(CS / SS) did you install? And did you use the rpm or the tarball?
