Good to know...and, heck, I remember this bug from 'way back, when it went the rounds in another list. It's EVEN possible it is a reported bug.

I think I caused that rumour to start. *IF* you use Dave Robinson's pukka installation kid (ibwin32f.zip from the SF site or Dave's ibinstall site) you won't have these problems. The problems currently apply when people download the snapshot builds from SF, because they don't come with an installation program.

I asked for info because, as webmaster of the IBDI site, my email address gets inundated with moans from people who just download the snapshot builds, unzip them and expect them to work. So I said to myself "You could save yourself many hours here if you wrote a HowTo on configuring the snapshot builds".
