Subject Database corrupted... Data pump?
Author Zed
(Sorry if this is a repeated message... Yahoo Groups sent me several error
messages, and I dont know if any of the other 4 times I sent this messages
was really sent to the group...)

Hi everyone! I just sent a message, but I decided to improve it...

I think I have a corrupted database here... I dont know if I can call it
database anymore (I starting to believe I lost it forever)... :o)

---------
I cant connect to it, I'm getting the error:

I/O error for file "C:\TEMP\BASE2494.GDB"
Error while trying to read from file
The operation completed successfully
---------
I tried to validate it (using IBConsole or gfix -validate -ignore) and got
the error:

Error 335544343

Invalid request BLR at offset 653
function NVLNUM is not defined
module name or entrypoint could not be found
---------
I also tried gfix -validate -full and the error changed

database file appears corrupt ()
-bad checksum
-checksum error on database page 32229
---------
I also tried gfix -mend and it didn't work either...
---------
I read something about performing a backup/restore (garbage collect, ignore
checksum)...
gbak -b -g -i... Nothing!!!

gbak: ERROR: I/O error for file "C:\TEMP\BASE2494.GDB"
gbak: ERROR: Error while trying to read from file
gbak: ERROR: The operation completed successfully.
---------

I read something about data pump, data load, export... I dont remember
where, and I cant find it again... Blame me!!!

Is there anything I can do to read the data from it? I can do anything you
guys tell me to do... :o)

Thanks a lot...

Zed.
