Hi!

Our IB server (NT4), what worked well suddenly started to crash. I
guess I have done something stupid in client program or in SP-s, to
make this happen, because even after moving to different computer
with W2K it still crashes.
The main problem for me is, that I don't see any specific IB related
error message, don't know where to look at. Also didn't see any data
corruption yet ...

Brief description of system status after crash:

- If I look into services list, Interbase server status is shown
as "stopping". And it will stay so forever... This is the most
confusing part.

- if I try to stop IBGuardian service from MMC, then it gives me the
message window:
Microsoft Management Console.
Could not stop the InterBase Guardian service on Local Computer.
Error 997: Overlapped I/O process is in progress

I guess this is normal message. It is exactly the same then I try to
stop normally running IBGuardian/IBserver.

- Application event log then contains
normal start/stop messages from IBGuardian.
- System log contains the same Service Control Manager
error messages for both IBGuard and IBServer service

- I have sometimes succseeded to restart IBserver by doing "start"
IBGuardian and after that "restart" IBGuardian.

Any ideas, how to track this problem down?
