We're trying out Firebird with Dephi 6 interbase componencts because MS Access
(with ADO components) is running slow. It was great when the gdb file was on the
development machine. Firebird was running identical queries (SELECT * FROM
tablename ORDER BY field) on identical data between 2 and times faster. But
when we put the GDB file on another machine and started connecting to it over
the network the Access run was faster, sometimes twice as fast.

We're very new to this. Are there any tweaks to make in Firebird to speed up its
network performace?
