Check your database statistics. Odds are that you have a *long* gap between
OAT and current transaction. If this is the case, then you need to
re-evaluate your clients logic to make sure that you're committing
frequently enough to avoid this issue.

Subject: [ib-support] IB server doesn't free memmory and my application
turns extremely slow

I'm working with IB 6.0 and connecting to the database through IB
Objects. The problem is that the ibserver, which is running on a winnt 4.0,
keeps increasing the amount of allocated memmory up to a point in which it
works very slow for operations that are usually done in a snap.

This is happening to me everyday after 4 hours of data load (a huge
amount of data). Then when it turns slow, the only thing we can do is to
restart the server and everything works ok.

I'd like to know if there's any configuration that i should try or,
since i read that several people noticed that the win32 version doesn't free
memmory, if IB server for linux has the same problem.

Is this problem solved in firebird?

Thnks,
