Mike,

Neither InterBase 6 nor Firebird has been compiled and built
on Novell so installing it would be somewhat futile. There's
been a fair amount of interest in the port but it hasn't happened.
Part of the problem is that Novell isn't really a hacker environment -
so people who like the Novell platform don't tend to be the type
to try a port on their own, and people who like porting things and
making them work don't tend to know Novell.

If everyone who asked about the possibility of a Novell port
actually put $1000 in a pot, we could probably find a way to get
a port done - but nobody so far has shown an interest in doing it
for love.
