pconnect problems in php are present in postgresql as well.
I participate in another project which uses phplib for
db abstraction (as opposed to ADODB) but we had to build
in an option to disable pconnect for postgresql. (mySQL worked
fine.) HOWEVER, the problem did NOT show up on EVERY postgresql
install, i suspect it's the same with interbase. i.e. if you
suspect a problem with pconnect just use connect instead.
