Back when we did stats on this sort of stuff, something like 40% of the
Borland tools users had used InterBase, of that 40%, 20% or so would go on
to use InterBase seriously. There was other developer usage, based on
InterBase's original history, but the core market was effectively Borland
Tool users.

However since Open Source, and everybody on the list, please feel free to
add your 2c, I believe the usage of Firebird has widened considerably, and
it is now being used in Web development along with a myriad of other
projects.
