On my mind kinterbasd is the past
the firebirdsql Python binding is the future (no compilation need,
working with Python 3)

but to replace kinterbasdb by firebirdsql there is still some work to do

Any one willing to help to get the kdb API and flesh in the firebirdsql
code somehow ?
