It might be a good idea to start mentioning the new driver here (with
warning that it is still in dev?):
http://firebirdsql.org/index.php?op=devel&sub=python
Has/is anyone looking into doing the necessary work to support the new
driver in SQLAlchemy? If yes, is there a chance that I can get a copy
of it? I hope to start to do more testing with the new driver in the
December/January time frame and would like to pretty quickly do this
with SA.
Some info on SA's support for different databases.
The current kinterbasdb support is in
"sa/dialects/firebird/kinterbasdb.py" , it is small but does a few
things which I am not sure how they will map to the new driver (e.g.
dynamic_type_translation) .
