I've used that since I started with PHP just as PHP5 reached RC stage and I've
not found a need for anything else. Yes it's quite large, but at least I only
need to include the code for drivers I am actually using. The PHP extension also
does add a useful speed improvement, but eaccelerator does a good job of that
generally.

Nice to see that you've not gone down the PDO route at least. I've shifted a
couple of projects to ADOdb rather than having to add sql handling to that :)
