But PHP5.3 is no use - far too much work to upgrade the current code
base and things like eaccelerator and magicwand have not been re-written
yet :(
Switching TO 5.3 is punishing ;) and simply hiding the warnings is not
something I'm happy to do!

All I need is a working 5.2.9 php_interbase.so .... I think?
