Some ideas:
- check if you are not running a 64 bit version of CentOS because the default extension_dir in php.ini will be /usr/lib64/php/ modules
- do a restart of the httpd service
If everything's ok you should have a separate section called "interbase"in phpinfo().

Subject: [firebird-php] Re: Where is the PHP interbase.so module for CentOS 5.2 ?

Thank you for your post.

I did what http://www.firebird faq.org/faq191/ tells to do and I now have interbase.so in /usr/lib/php/ modules. The /etc/php.ini file has the line extension=interbase .so but PHP doesn't connect to Firebird.

How can I tell what else is missing in the configuration?
It is suposed to appear interbase/firebird in the display of phpinfo()?

Nando.
