Actually it was the Net3.5 stuff that messed me about! The windows
update was replacing it while the express package was also trying to do
it. I ended up having to wipe everything and start again. That is when I
left doing anything with the machine untill updates stopped complaining.
But now it wants to update a driver which for some reason it can't ...

I probably should just picked up an extra XP licence ;)
