But - and I've still not actually seen a reply to this question on the
Firebird support list - You should not use multiple clients on the one
machine. They will all be fighting for the same connection. And certainly only
one copy of fbembeded.dll can be used at a time - but in my opinion that
should not be used with PHP.

The connection to a remote server is via port 3050. Two clients can't use that
at the same time? So I repeat my previous statement that - in the past - we
ensured that only one copy of the client was visible on a machine. It may be
that the unstable nature of Windows TCP/IP stack has now be sorted - but I'd
still prefer to see a definitive statement to that fact?
