We explained in this thread why tests are necessary in the firebird
extensions. PHP involves, some changes require us to update extensions
(so they can be build or works with the current engine, etc.).

Yes, but it is done at the distribution level.

No, but you repeated the irrelevant complains about all possible
things. Anyway, I already got the answers I was looking for. I'll come
back to the list when the snapshot builds have the updated firebird
libs.
