Things are a little 'wooly' on what *IS* done where, but the best way of
thinking about it IS that the 'query' 'prepare'-s the statement, and
'fetch' actually runs it.
ADOdb raps some of this internally, so *I* tend to forget about the
limitations of the raw stuff ;)
