Hi Nigel
I am still up - 00:50 SA Time. Not bragging - I'm complaining<g>
Thx once again!
Me and you may just thrash out out a few things here!
BTW. Never worked with MySQL - only dBase II/III/Clipper/Clarion for
DOS/Clarion for Windows (2.002/c5/c55) with Clarion DAT and TPS files.
Now moving to FireBird and maybe even ASA (for those who insist<g>)
Cheers

I don't like being told to 'RTFM' either...so I try to give verbose
examples
with lots of documentation in them...sorry!

I guess the main reason the for 'RTFM' occurance, and I mean absolutely no
offence by this, is that a lot of people are coming from MySQL usage, and
thusly some questions get asked very frequently.

This might be an ideal example case to put up on the Wiki page for
Firebird,
so people on the list can say:
'Hey, take a look at this address! You'll find all the tricks you need!'

I'd have to say the trend isn't in the opposite direction, it just
occasionally (and very rarely) has rough patches :-)

We are in the same boat alright! Firebird is still an 'UnderDog' database.
Not many people have heard of it, and we need to be as positive,
professional, and supportive as possible.
The good thing is, people are hearing about it! And it's a ball-tearer of
an
RDBMS!!

Do hang around!! Don't be turned of by an 'RTFM', there's some fantastic
people here!

No worries, mate!
