Subject Firebird database maintenance and eventual recovery
Author Jean-Louis Dehoux
We have a Point of Sale and management software for food service and
retail running on Windows. The software is named Jumpware and we
currently have a few hundred installs. As we speak, we are now
expending our sales channels throughout the United States.
We have added and recommended the use of Firebird as a RDBMS.
Successive versions of the software are always backward compatible but
sometimes introduce changes to the database schema.
It seems that IBReplicator would be a logical part of the solution but
its setup is quite complex for computer illiterate people.
What would it take for you to develop an easily installed one-click
solution (if possible) to backup and maintain the Firebird database.
