That should work, and if it doesn't then double check the following:
- did you remove the # (comment-mark) before the WireCrypt config option
in firebird.conf
- have you restarted Firebird (or restart again just to be sure)
- are you sure it is the right firebird.conf you edited (I don't know
the layout of Firebird on Debian, so can't provide specific hints there,
but I seem to recall some Linux distributions use a firebird.conf in a
different location than is 'standard' for Firebird)
It shouldn't make a difference, but otherwise try setting WireCrypt =
Disabled.
