Currently I get FB's specific error codes when an exception is thrown. Does
SQLErrorCodeSQLExceptionTranslator already implement the translation?

Wouldn't this be more appropriate for Firebird-support or firebird-devel?

Firebird 2.5 provides support for SQLState codes, so as soon as Jaybird
provides support for that as well you don't have to convert yourself.
