Feel free to fix the build system and submit the patch, though the fixes
will go to HEAD. In general there were plans to switch to Maven2, but we
have not enough hands to do the switch.

Not sure... I do not remember if 64-bit fixes are there (and if they are
in CVS at all)... If I'm not mistaken, SAS used to compile the stuff on
64-bit, but I do not remember the rest of the story :( The supplied
binaries are 32-bit ones.
